Welcome to Iron Quail Ranch
Iron Quail Ranch lays in the center of Avra Valley, Arizona beautifully positioned between Saguaro National Park and Ironwood Forest National Monument on former farm and ranch land. Iron Quail Ranch was purchased in 2018 and the owners, Michael and Sabine, began to slowly develop it into a modern homestead with the primary focus being that an independent lifestyle would have a minimal impact and disruption to the native wildlife and fauna.
The ranch was started on raw, completely undeveloped land. No infrastructure, no water, no electricity, no city services of any kind! Much of the ranch land remains undisturbed today, providing a natural Sonoran Desert environment to those who visit.
Today, Iron Quail Ranch is thriving. It produces its own water, electricity and some food products, of which, the list gets longer every year. Rotational grazing, foraging, use of seasonal dry lots, and herd size has been our primary means of managing our livestock without damaging the native soils.
At Iron Quail Ranch we raise 100% New Zealand Kiko goats. The breed is used for both meat and milk production on the ranch. We make our 100% NZ Kiko kids available to the public by simply signing up for the next kidding season. We also free range our Plymouth Rock, Bard Rock, and Delaware chickens to provide our family, neighbors and visitors with quality organic eggs at an affordable price.
Visitors can come camp on the ranch and enjoy the outdoor life. We have 2 lightly developed campsites for self contained RVs only. Reservations are easily made through Hipcamp.com. Potable water, waste disposal and composting are available on Iron Quail Ranch for campers.
